In support of Stoptober, The Rowans are encouraging staff and young people to give up smoking.
This October we are working with A Better Medway to encourage students to have a go at the Stoptober challenge and go without smoking for a month.
Our staff have been trained to give advice on quitting smoking and during October will be able to give out nicotine replacement mints or inhalators to help students go without cigarettes and cope with cravings. These are a safe alternative to smoking and licenced for use by anyone over the age of 12.
If you are a smoker and would like to join the challenge, you’ll find lots of information on the Stoptober website (stoptober.smokefree.nhs.uk/registration-c). You can also collect a free nicotine replacement sample from us to get you started (while stocks last).
We hope they will all feel a bit healthier and wealthier by the end of the month and some may even go on to quit for good.
