The Rowans AP Academy

Inspiring change for a brighter future

More Success!

The Rowans is delighted to announce another successful year of results...

Following on from The Rowans' 'outstanding' OFSTED judgement, Rowans pupils have achieved equally outstanding results.

93% of pupils achieved 5 A* - G results, compared to a National PRU average for last year of just 11%.

We would like to pay special mention to: Sean D who achieved 12 qualifications; Eliey B who gained 11, Lucy M obtaining 9 qualifications and to George S who achieved C's in both English and Maths. Results from both Art and Photography were also very impressive.

The Rowans would like wish the pupils the very best of luck in their next chapter.

The previous school year saw The Rowans promote reading throughout the school, and we are pleased to see the impact it has had on our pupils' reading age. Both our key stage three and four pupils on average saw their reading age grow by 18 months.

We aim to build on our impressive reading progress by improving literacy across the curriculum. To achieve this we are introducing 'The Rowans' Big Write' which will focus on improving our pupils' writing. More information on 'The Rowans' Big Write' will be made available on the website soon.

Progress across the KS3 curriculum has also been very impressive. Five of our KS3 subjects saw at least 80% of its pupils achieving or exceeding national progress expectations – notably in Maths where 95% of pupils were achieving or exceeding.

We look forward to another year of continued progress and success at The Rowans!
