The Rowans AP Academy

Inspiring change for a brighter future

PSHE

Personal, Social and Health Education

The PSHE curriculum at The Rowans has been carefully put together to enable pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes required to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepared for their future adult working life. It has been proved that well-delivered PSHE programmes have a positive impact on both academic and non-academic outcomes for young people.

The Rowans Programme of Study for PSHE aims to develop skills and attributes such as self-esteem, risk-aversion, teamwork and first aid. The British Heart Foundation has kindly provided us with a bag of resuscitation dummies and equipment to enhance the students first aid knowledge and skills.

It is our aim to nurture our students and encourage them to become confident, critical thinkers in addition to developing the skills to be good citizens.
