Personal, Social and Health Education

PSHE at the Rowans a school subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepare for life and work. Our PSHE delivery, is designed to have an impact on both academic and non-academic outcomes for pupils, particularly the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. 

We deliver our lessons through an AQA unit award scheme, where students achieve an award approximately on a termly basis to show they have achieved the unit. 

The units covered are as follows:

  • Term 1: Alcohol, smoking and drugs awareness
  • Term 2: Careers progression
  • Term 3: Crime and gang culture
  • Term 4: First aid
  • Term 5: Bullying
  • Term 6: Independent living
