Science Clean Air for All - Green Schools Award
Clean Air for All: The Rowans AP Academy overall category winners!
The Rowans spent a whole year focusing on the environment, from lessons on climate change and human impact on the planet to recycling more; using less paper, studying pollution particles in the air around the school and engaging in lessons about air quality and about the history of smog. Students built kites and solar panel cars to model modes of transport that are less polluting and there was a school-wide focus on environmentalism, including plans to plant 60 trees around the school. The trees were donated after a winning bid from the Wodland Trust.
Mrs Martin went to receive the award on behalf of the school from Cllr David Blake. Huge congratulations a massive whole school project.
If you have any ideas on how the school can decrease its carbon footprint and increase recycling then please contact Mrs Martin.
