Contextual Safeguarding
Contextual Safeguarding is an approach to understanding, and responding to, young people’s experiences of significant harm beyond their families and homes. It recognises that children and young people can be at risk from abuse and violence within their neighbourhoods, schools and online. Parents and carers often have no idea that their child is experiencing risk, abuse and or violence.
Therefore, The Rowans AP Academy works closely with Medway’s social care and wider safeguarding partnerships to safeguard children beyond their immediate homes.
