When studying our new Multi-trades subject at the Rowans, learners are introduced to a taster of a range of different trades which may appeal to them in an attempt to gain employment for life after the Rowans. The subject is closely linked to projects/activities which may be carried our in the real words, for example; students have the opportunity to try their hand at fabricating copper piping for plumbing, designing an architectural model from a client brief or manufacturing a small wooden project using carpentry plans. Particular focus is given to the career conditions, entry requirements and expectations in conjunction with potential earnings and qualifications. 

The curriculum is divided up into the following projects/trades:

• Term 3: Electrical
• Term 4: Careers within construction
• Term 5: Plumbing
• Term 6: Tiling
