Transition at The Rowans for year 11 pupils is bespoke and so is tailored to the needs of each pupil. The Rowans mentoring process is rigorous and as you can see from the flow chart below incorporates target setting, psychometric testing, taster days and transition sessions. This process runs alongside tracking of progress towards a chosen post 16 destination and beyond life at The Rowans.
In total pupils are tracked for 3 years with regular contact being made via phone calls, text message, emails and meetings for extra support in CV writing and assistance in making applications into further education or employment.
Mrs Martin the assistant headteacher and careers lead along with Mr Hake are always available for bookings and support whenever it is needed.
