GCSE Photography is the art of capturing and manipulating images. However, be aware that it doesn’t just involve taking photographs. Over the course, you will develop your creativity, imagination and knowledge through sustained projects. You will learn about a variety of photographic media, techniques and processes including hands-on experimentation with traditional and digital media.
Students can select from a range of study areas within photography including portraiture, landscape or still life photography and documentary photography. Pupils will build a portfolio over the year consisting of different projects and for the final unit, there is a controlled assignment, which must be completed under exam conditions over a 10 hour periods.
